Joni Sledge was an American singer, best known as a member of the vocal group Sister Sledge, which gained prominence in the late 1970s. The group is best remembered for their iconic disco hits, particularly "We Are Family," released in 1979, which became an anthem of unity and celebration. Other notable works include "He's the Greatest Dancer" and "Lost in Music."
